So family photo shoot 2 was today and they turned out a lot better than I thought they would. The only problem I had was that my subjects wouldn't smile for the life of me. :) But thank goodness they were willing to give me the support and practice that I need. Now I can relax and enjoy this weekend up at the cabin, pigging out, taking pictures and playing cards! Hopefully my new lens will come in before the weekend and I will be able to experiment with that up there.

Family Pics

So my sister in law came in this week from Wisconsin and while she was here I thought it would be good to get some family pictures in while I could. Thinking it would be a great start for me since I know the family and they would be patient with me while I start on my new endeavour. The day was nice and cool and windy, a little to windy. I had some good shots, wishing I had more keepers than tossers. But they are being kind enough and willing enough to let me do another photo shoot with them again before she leaves on Thursday. Hoping it isn't to windy again.

First Photography Class

So today was my first ever photography class with an amazing professional photographer. Check out his blog that I follow. He has an amazing eye for photography and I am totally jelous. Thank you so much Zak for everything you have taught my mother and I this morning at the phoenix zoo. Above is a picture that i took shortly after he gave us instruction on how to use my camera manually instead of relying on the preset settings on the camera. I was nervous at first but really it was a great teacher and I am lucky to have found him.

For those who know me know that I would love to start my own photography business on the side and do it on my spare time, but I am extremly hesitant on starting this because I don't like to put my self out there for critizism. Taking photos has always been a hobby of mine. My dad always makes a comment when I have my camera in my hand and start taking photographs.
